Veterans Day Celebration 2018

DCVMF Receives a Generous Donation from the 105 W Brewing Company.

Yesterday afternoon, 07 DEC 17, after our monthly Board meeting, Eric Seufert of the 105 West Brewing Company, accompanied by John Manka, presented a donation to Debbie DeVoe and Jean Conrad Taylor of the Douglas County Veterans Monument Foundation. A very nice donation that will enable 3 local Veterans to receive a hand up monetary grant in a time of need. Also in attendance from DCVMF is Kenneth SobzackMike McNairy and Todd DeVoe. Thanks, Eric, John & the crew of 105 W Brewing Company!

Boy Scout Troop 780 Spruces Up the DC Veterans Monument

Big thanks to Castle Rock Boy Scout Troop 780. On Sunday, April 23rd, the troop pitched in to clean and wax the Douglas County Veterans Monument. You may find Veterans Plaza on the corner of Fourth St. and Wilcox. These young men earned community service credit for this work. They also learned the value of honoring our service members.

New funds available to serve at-risk Veterans

State grant focuses on Veteran emergency assistance.

Douglas County was recently the recipient of a $10,000 state grant providing emergency assistance to veterans struggling with housing (mortgage and rent payments), transportation, employment, healthcare or other emergency needs. The goal with these grant dollars is to help our Veterans bridge the gap during an emergency, creating a temporary safety net for the most basic and essential needs, while simultaneously connecting our Veterans with opportunities to obtain a more permanent solution towards becoming self-sufficient.

To apply for the veterans assistance funds, please contact the Douglas County Office of Veteran Affairs at 303-663-6200 or email the office at
